How to Make Pins

You should know how to make pins if you’re going to run any piece of your business online.

I realize that’s a strong statement, but it’s the truth.

Pinterest

Pinterest is a massive driver for online traffic.

All content is copyrighted, and republication is prohibited by law.  As an affiliate partner of various brands, we earn commissions on qualifying purchases.  Disclosure

Not only that, it is huge for conversations – i.e. getting someone to do the thing you desire them to do; buy your product, purchase your course, get on your email list, etc.

While many think Pinterest is a social media platform, it isn’t really all that social. Instead, Pinterest is more like a search engine, just as Google is a search engine.

What that means is that when people go to Pinterest they are looking for something specific. People are typically not just there to haphazardly pin, but instead to gather ideas in order to ultimately purchase or take action of some sort (most of the time).

Here is a huge stat on purchasing and Pinterest from Hootsuite,

95% of the top searches on Pinterest are unbranded

Why does this matter? It means that Pinners are open to discovering new products and ideas. Almost 9 in 10 people use Pinterest for purchase inspiration, and 98% of people polled by the company say they try new things based on what they find.

Growth with Pinterest

I want to illustrate what can happen when you:

a. use Pinterest and

b. use it correctly

This is my personal Pinterest account [HERE] for my main business, A Gutsy Girl.

The graph goes from January, 2019 to current. Today I’m around 1 million+ monthly views.

Maybe more than this growth seen on Pinterest is that I can tell you that’s exactly the same way the business has grown from a financial standpoint, too. And yes, I know there is a huge correlation between my Pinterest and financial growth for the business.

Keep in mind, too, that my business is very niche. It’s not even really “Pinterest sexy.”

If a gut health business can do it, you’re going to fly!

Pinterest Ideas

Okay, great. So Pinterest is important….blah, blah. But what do I do now?

Well, if you’re here, there is a 95% chance you already have a Pinterest account. If you don’t, get set up with one now at Pinterest.com.

If you’d like me to do a full step-by-step tutorial on setting up your Pinterest profile, just leave a comment in the comments section below.

The biggest thing to note when setting up your profile is that it should match your business name. If I could do it all over again, my Pinterest URL would not be sarahkayhoffman. Instead, it would have been, agutsygirl; that’s my business.

Once you have an account, you’ll start creating your boards and pins. And again, there are plenty of thoughts, tips, and tricks around setting up your Pinterest profile, boards, and more. That’s not what this post is about, but happy to create posts around those topics, if you want them.

Today I want to walk you through how to make a Pinterest pin. I want to give you the start for your own Pinterest ideas galore.

After all, it’s this pin that someone will click on which will take them to your website, e-list, product, service page, etc.

I have been making pins for what seems like forever. At this point, I have probably created thousands of them, spending hundreds of hours crafting them for both my own website(s) and (in the past) for client’s websites.

Therefore, if you have zero desire in creating your own pins from scratch, then you can take my templates and make them yours. That’s right! I have created 51 Pinterest templates that you can use and manipulate however you want.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a set this large for less than $29, but I’m for a limited time only, I’m going to offer this set of 51 for just $9.99. And yes, that means each of the templates – that you can use over-and-over – are just shy of 20c a piece.

But I get it. Maybe you want to create these all on your own, from scratch.

In that case, I want to teach you my method using the Canva tool.

How Much is Canva Pro

And yet again, I have intentions of sharing all the things Canva for the Tribe because if you don’t already use it, you’re going to love it. If you do already use it, there is so much more to learn from it.

First things first, there are three ways to use Canva:

  1. Regular Canva account
  2. Canva Pro
  3. Enterprise Solutions

The regular Canva is free. It includes:

  • 250,000+ free templates
  • 100+ design types (social media posts, presentations, letters, and more)
  • Hundreds of thousands of free photos and graphics
  • Invite members to your team
  • Collaborate and comment in real-time
  • 5GB of cloud storage

Canva Pro is $12.99/month or $119.99/year. I use Canva Pro, and I purchase it for my team as well. It’s so worth it. Here is what you get with Canva Pro:

  • Everything from the free version above
  • Create 1 Brand Kit and upload your own fonts and logos
  • One-click design Magic Resize
  • 420,000+ free templates with new designs daily
  • 75+ million premium stock photos, videos, audio and graphics free-to-use
  • Save designs as templates for your team to use
  • 100GB of cloud storage
  • Schedule social media content to 7 platforms

And the Enterprise Solutions is for larger teams and brands. It’s 99% not likely to be for you.

So moving on.

I want to teach you the easiest way to make a Pinterest pin to get started pinning to your Pinterest for extra business growth today.
